Lecture "Official Portraits of French and American Presidents - 1958-2017"

In recent years, the unveiling of the official portrait of the French president has become a major event in the French media. Since the beginning of the fifth republic, in 1958, official portraits have drawn ever more public attention. Once the image is chosen, it will be associated with the person of the president long after the end of his mandate. Much as in the United States, this official photograph is exhibited in town halls, civic centers and government buildings.
